Dr Nori Dattatreyudu inaugurates the six month cancer screening camp

  • The six-month long cancer screening will cover all women in the districto
  • The Camps will be organised by Bridge Gap Indur Cancer Hospitals & Grace Cancer Foundationo
  • Will assess cancer and non-communicable diseases risk among women 
  • Women Cancer Conquerors will lead the campaign in their respective villages

Nizamabad. Bridge Gap Indur Cancer Hospitals in associationwith Grace Cancer Foundation, has launched the largest ever mass Women Cancerscreening program in Nizamabad District, on the occasion of World Women’s Day, atIndur Cancer Hospital, today.

The Campaign was formally inaugurated by ChiefGuest and World-Renowned Oncologist Dr Nori Dattatreyudu, Professor and Directorof the Cancer Center-Presbyterlan Hospital/ Queens -Weill Cornell Medical College,New York; Advisor to the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh and Advisory Board Member of Grace Cancer Foundation; along with the Women Cancer Conquerors, who got treated at Bridge Gap Indur Cancer Hospitals. The historic event was graced by Guest of Honour Shri Mantena Venkata Ramaraju, CMD, Vasudha Group of Companies &Founder Chairman, Vasudha Foundation; Dr Chinnababu Sunkavaili, Founder &CEO, Grace Cancer Foundation; Dr Hemanth Vudayaraju, Board Member, GraceCancer Foundation; Mr Kiran Vakkalanka, Director, Bridge Gap Hospitals; DrPradyumna Reddy, Unit Head, Bridge Gap Hospitals, Nizamabad; Dr RavindranathSoori, Medical Director, Bridge Gap Hospitals and Dr Prameela, Founder Director,Grace Cancer Foundation.Grace Cancer Foundation in association with Bridge Gap Indur Cancer Hospitals; willscreen all the women in Nizamabad district, to detect cancer in early stages and ridthe Nizamabad district of the dreaded disease.

This becomes imperative consideringcervical cancer being the bane of rural India. India has world’s highest incidence ofcervical cancer with 9.2% new cases being diagnosed every year and several of these women succumbing to it.

Cervical cancer is completely preventable with HPV vaccine, therefore much more needs to be done to create awareness and prevent unnecessarydeaths, says Dr Chinnababu  Sunkavaili, Founder & CEO, Grace Cancer Foundation.As part of the program free Cancer screening will be conducted across all the villages of Nizamabad District spanning over the next six months. The initiative will assess the general health of women in the district along with cancer and non-communicable diseases risk. The Cancer Conquerors will lead the screening campaign from the fron tin their respective villages and ensure the entire populace getting screened duringthis period.
