At last, there is a little twist in transfer issue of the government doctors in Uttar Pradesh. An order from state government asking health directorate for a proposal to consider rectification of transfers of 89-doctors could be said some relief in the agitation by many of them.
Government doctors have been meeting officials and health minister demanding their transfers be cancelled as they are in violation of state’s own transfer policy issued on June 15. A total over 250-doctors from across the state had claimed this.
Now weeks after persuasion by government doctors a letter has been sent to the director general medical health to prepare proposal for correction of transfer orders.
‘These 89-application that have been attached with the letter, should be examined for rectification/cancellation of transfer order. This in accordance with the transfer policy dated June 15. The proposal should be sent to the state government for consideration,’ the letter sent to the DG health says.
Doctors but want all applications should be considered for cancellation. “Over 250 individual doctors had demanded cancellation of incorrect transfers. Those included that of doctors ill with chronic ailment, divyang or cases of couple posting”, Dr Amit Singh, general secretary of the Provincial Medical Services Association.
The PMSA gave representation to the health minister Brajesh Pathak also who had then sought explanation from ACS health. The matter has been talked about in the power corridor and the scne has become sort of politician Vs. bureaucrat.
The big question is how many from 89 will actually get relief and whether the other over 200 applications will also be considered.
