Shaheen Bagh that is now identified with the Citizenship Amendment Law agitation in India is now a major issued in the Delhi elections-2020. Right from those in power to the opposition are using the agitation as per their own convenience for political gains.
BJP leaders are spitting venom against the protestors frequently. Whether it is BJP’s MP Prevesh Kumar or union minister for state for finance Anurag Thakur or Giriraj Singh, all such leaders are attacking the protestors with statements.
In recent the state BJP chief for West Bengal Dilip Ghosh has given a controversial statement on Tuesday. He has asked why is nothing happening to the protestors in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh despite inclement weather conditions. The protestors, he said, are protestors under the sky.
He Asked that why is nothing happening to women and children who are protesting. Neither are they falling ill and none have died either despite they are protesting with extreme cold conditions.
The BJP MP said that during the demonitisation when people stood in queues news about many deaths had come but despite sitting under the sky in cold climate none among the protestors died. ‘Have they consumed ambrosia or immortal necter?’ the BJP MP asked. He also said that where from the funding for the protest is being done.
Ghosh said, ‘We have come to know that women and children are sitting under the sky in cold conditions. I am surprised why none have fallen ill? Nothing happened to them. Why none of the protestors died?’
He said that it is shocking and have they consumed ambrosia that nothing is happening to them. But in West Bengal some people reportedly committed suicide.
It may be mentioned here that in South Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh women and children in large number are protesting against the CAA and it is now over a month that the protestors are sitting there. Dur to this protest the Kalindi Kunj the road connecting Delhi with Noida is blocked as women are sitting on the road only. hence people have to take diverted routes and they are facing a lot of problems.
