Number of deaths in India from COVID-19 rose to 45,257 on Tuesday after 871 deaths were reported in last 24 hours. However the number of fresh cases 53,601 were a little less than the average daily fresh cases coming in the country for past few days.
Also India recorded the highest number of recoveries in a single day with 47,747 COVID patients having recovered and discharged yesterday.
India’s COVID-19 tally reached 22,68,676, with 53,601 cases. Recoveries reached 15,83,490 according to the Union Health Ministry data. Case count includes 6,39,929 active cases and 15,83,490 discharged. Till now 2,52,81,848 samples have been tested in the country.
For the past 10 days the country was setting new records in fresh cases being reported every day.

The five most-affected states by number of cases are Maharashtra with 5,24,513 cases, Tamil Nadu 302815 cases, Andhra Pradesh 2,35,525 cases, Karnataka 1,82,354 cases, Uttar Pradesh 1,26,722 cases. IN Uttar Pradesh a major contribution has come from the state capital that has reported over 12000 cases till now.
US President Donald Trump has said India stands second in terms of coronavirus testing. According to Donald Trump, while the US has tested close to 65 million people for coronavirus, India would be second with 11 million tests.
“We have tested close to 65 million people and no country is even close to that number. India would be second at 11 million,” Donald Trump told reporters.
