COVID-19 count in India reached 2768454 Wednesday morning 10 am while fatalities stand at 53345, 1.91%.
Number of recovered patients crossed 20 lakh mark and stands at is 2038437, which is 73.64% of the total cases reported. IN all 676672 are under treatment. Till now 31742782 tests have been done in India.
The question now is whether India has peaked as in past two days the number of fresh cases declined but experts say it would be irresponsible to make the call that India has peaked, as new cases are still around the 60K.
The latest reports about antibodies among Indians suggest every fourth Indian has antibody to fight COVID-19. IN Delhi 29% people were found with the immunity against the virus. We live in a pandemic hence question everything. And in this case it is not clear for how long the immunity will stay in the body of an individual.
“TEST, TRACK, TREAT has ensured that the active cases are less than 1/4th of the total COVID19 cases. Higher number of recoveries and declining fatality has shown that India’s graded strategy has worked,” the health ministry tweeted in the morning.
India has approved Hydroxychloroquine as a treatment in mild and moderate cases, and as prophylactic. Remdesivir has been approved under emergency use for patients with moderate COVID-19 (those on oxygen). Also the use of convalescent plasma is being considered in patients with moderate COVID-19 who are not improving.
