Lucknow: People between 21 to 40 years of age are most vulnerable to coronavirus says the latest data from health department released by principal secretary health on Sunday evening.
The data says 47.3% cases are in the age bracket of 21 to 40 years of age, while the age bracket between 41 to 60 years has 24.7% cases, Amit Mohan Prasad the principal secretary health said at a press conference.
From 0 to 20 years of age bracket has 18.5% cases and above 60-years has 9.4% coronavirus cases in the state. The reason for less cases in 0 to 20 years and above 60 years is that children and elderly stay indoor, which is a good thing.
“Staying indoor is the best option for all. But as children and elderly have poor immunity they should stay indoor in particular,” said Dr Rama Srivastava, president IMA, Lucknow.
The state has till now reported 1084 cases till now of which 108 have been discharged. In all 17 patients have died during treatment. The state has 1050 patients in the isolation wards and 10234 in the medical quarantine facility.
Experts said that if possible children and elderly should stay at distance from those family members who are going out for essential services. Of the total cases 78% are male patients and 22% female.
