The health department ensured 4 travelers are isolated at district hospitals in Ballia, Gonda, Kheri and GB Nagar districts, while 686 other travelers being tracked are in fine health and under home isolation.
Till now 255 travelers who had travel history of China and were being tracked have completed 28 days of observation after coming back from China. Till date, 945 travelers from corona affected countries have been identified and tracked by District Surveillance Units and WHO-NPSP teams.
29 of them were found to be symptomatic and their samples collected, 16 out of these 29 have been found to be negative, results of remaining 13 are awaited, said health department officials.
WHO has declared the recent Novel Corona Virus (2019-nCoV) epidemic affecting 25 countries as International Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) under IHR (International Health Regulation). In this context, Uttar Pradesh Government has strengthened the surveillance and control measures against the disease.
Helpline number at the State Head Quarters is 1800-180-5145. 820 Isolation beds have been reserved across state for travelers returning back from China. State has ensured that adequate infection prevention logistics are available for Travelers and Hospital staff.
