Uttar Pradesh health department has sought help from railways, army and EIS hospitals to handle situation if the need arises. The department has also increased focus in 11 districts and deputed joint director rank officials as nodal officers for these districts.
Dr SC Mittal is the nodal officer for Varanasi, Dr SK Mishra for Gorakhpur, Dr Rakesh for Lucknow, Dr RC Pandey for Jhansi, Dr YK Pathak for Prayagraj, Dr G Khan for Kishunagar, Dr Anoop Shukla for Bareilly, Dr RP Rawat for Kanpur, Dr Ashok Talyan for Gaziabad, Dr Sandip Gulati for Basti and Dr SK Singh for Bulandshahr. These officials will monitor all arrangements for coronavirus that is being done in the district says health officials.
Till date, 2915 travelers from corona affected countries have been identified and tracked by District Surveillance Units and all have been placed under surveillance. Total 713 travelers being tracked are in fine health, 708 travelers are under home isolation.
The 133 contacts of a positive case at Delhi are also in fine health, 6 of these are admitted at Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, rest 127 under home quarantine. State has also asked Railway, Army and EIS hospitals, IMA and Nursing Home Associations to be in a state of readiness to handle the situation if need arises.
A training session of more than 1000 officers was conducted through a 3 hour video conferencing session in which in-charges of all district hospitals, Railway hospitals, Army
Hospitals and representatives of IMA participated and were trained on Preparedness and logistics in Hospitals, Admission and quarantine protocols, Home based care, Sample Collection, Clinical case management, and Key areas of control, Infection prevention, Disinfection of buildings, and Risk communication.
Sensitization drive at Agra, from where five positive cases were reported, has covered a total of 32944 houses in an area of 3 Km radius around Master Plan Road. A total of 314 teams have been deployed for this activity.
