As the sixth corona virus case has been confirmed in Uttar Pradesh, health department has increased measures to check spread of cases. Infra-red thermometers have been made available at the Taj Mahal.
The Taj Mahal has been getting a large number of international tourists and thermal scanner were provided to staff there a few days before now with infra-red thermometer the scanning is expected to be better. The sixth cases to be confirmed is also from Agra, from where five had tested positive earlier this month.
Owing to chance of its spread the state government waived off biometric attendance for its employees. Additionally 40 officers have been deployed in Agra. The radius of 3-kms from where the corona virus cases were reported in Agra are being scanned to look for the people who came in contact with any of the positive cases.
Over 3000 houses in Agra in the vicinity of the areas from where cases were reported have been scanned till now.
A rapid response team has been constituted by the pulmonary and critical care medicine department of the KGMU that is training medical staff to work with international protocols and guidelines. Dr Ved Prakash, HoD said that the team is training staff on the international protocol.
KGMU got 41 samples of which 40 have tested negative. Report of one sample is still awaited. In the state total 2965 travelers were screened.
WHO has declared the recent Novel Corona Virus (2019-nCoV) epidemic affecting 88 countries as International Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) under IHR (International Health Regulation).
In this context, Uttar Pradesh Government has strengthened the surveillance and control measures against the disease. In all 10,83,908 travelers have been screened at Border check posts and the process is going on. Nine suspected cases are admitted in Lucknow.
