Raising vigorously the demand for immediate relief from the Yogi Government to lakhs of middle-income families faced with difficulties for the past four months due to corona pandemic, the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) on Friday staged statewide protest and handed over a memorandum to the Governor through the District Magistrate. At the instructions of UPCC chief Mr Ajay Kumar Lallu, the protest was organised by maintaining the norm of social distancing.

In a statement, Mr Lallu said that the global corona pandemic has adversely affected the income of lakhs of middle-class families. As a result, they are constantly facing difficulties. In such a situation, the Yogi Government should immediately announce an economic relief package for these families.

In his statement, UPCC chief Mr Ajay Kumar Lallu said that the fee of four months of all the board students of the state should be completely waived off. At the same time, financial assistance should be given to all employees, including educational staff of all private schools at the rate of at least Rs 8,000 per month. He further said that the Yogi Government should ensure that there is no alteration in the textbooks of the schools nor the children’s dress is changed frequently.

In the statement, Mr Ajay Kumar Lallu also demanded an economic package for all advocates of the state. He said that due to the closure of work in all courts, the income of lawyer brothers has been adversely affected. In such a situation, a monthly honorarium of Rs 10,000 should be provided to all lawyers by the Yogi Government.

Mr Lallu said that those who have neither benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana nor other pension schemes of the government and their annual income is less than Rs 2 lakh should also be helped. If they have taken loan for house, vehicle or other basic needs, the government should immediately extend at least a relief of at least Rs 20,000 to them as they have been hit hard by the corona pandemic, said Mr Lallu.
