Congress released green Delhi manifesto, focuses upon free

The Congress has released its manifesto for the Delhi elections. Delhi Congress state chief Subhash Chopra, Anand Sharma, Ajay Makan released the manifesto on Sunday. This was two days after NJP released its manifesto ‘sankalp patra’ on Friday.

The Delhi goes to poll on February 8 and the counting will be done on February 11 for 70 assembly seats.

Congress, in its manifesto has promised 300 units of free electricity and also unemployment allowance to educated youths. The graduates as per the Congress’ manifesto shall get Rs 5000 and those post graduate shall get Rs 7500 every month under the Yuva Swabhimaan Yojna. The senior citizens shall be given free bus ride if the Congress comes to power, says the party manifesto.

The party said that their manifesto is linked with the people. The manifesto promises five more AIIMS like hospitals for New Delhi. Also regularization of illegal colonies and free education to girls up till PhD is there in the manifesto and skill training also.

Subhash Chopra said that the present government came to power with a slogan of Jan Lokpal but the present government has actually weakened the Jan Lokpal brought in by the Congress earlier. We shall bring Jan Lokpal within six months of coming to power, said Chopra.

The second manifesto of the Congress is named Green Manifesto. It speaks about environment, eco-friendly transport. The declaration of manifestoes by the BJP, the Congress and AAP has turned the contest interesting as parties dive in for campaigns.

BJP’s manifesto was released in presence of Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Prakash Javadekar, Harsh Vardhan, party’s Delhi unit president Manoj Tiwari and MPs. Addressing the media, Nitin Gadkari said the party will run the “bullet train” of development in the national capital.

The BJP had on Friday released ‘Delhi Sankalp Patra’, its manifesto for the polls. The BJP promised good quality wheat flour and supply of clean drinking water. The BJP has promised sops like a ban on sealing and Rs 2 per kg wheat flour for poor.

Releasing the manifesto, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari had promised a corruption-free government and a development board for the newly-authorised colonies. Manoj Tiwari said that if BJP forms the next government in Delhi then dependency on water tankers will be eliminated.
