Congress’ mission 15 million in Uttar Pradesh

Almost every party is busy in Delhi that has elections slated on February 8 and star campaigners have been thronging the homes of voters of the national capital. But this has eventually given scope to Congress and the party is busy expediting it in the state.

Keeping an eye upon 2022 UP assembly polls the Congress party has worked upon farmers issues and is contacting farmers that are irked with the policies of the BJP ruled state government. Congress workers are working to get in touch of all such farmer groups. Congress’ general secretary Priyanka Gandhi and party’s state president Ajay Kumar Lallu have been speaking upon farmers issues targeting Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh.

The tweet done on stray animals by Priyanka Gandhi had become viral on social media platforms. Ajay Kumar Lallu has been convening meeting on farmers issues, particularly in west Uttar Pradesh where he took part in protests by the sugarcane farmers. Now Congress has done groundwork to target state government on farmers’ issue.

farmers are facing many troubles in shape of stray animals and delay in payment of sugarcane while incorrect weighing is yet another blow to farmers who have to work hard on the fields to earn a living. Farmer leaders say that even procurement of crops in eastern part of the state is being done via middlemen while farmers in Bundelkhand are getting recovery notices from the banks.

All this when inclement weather has already troubled farmers sometimes with rains and sometimes with excessive cold climate that has incurred a major loss to many farmers.

Congress workers are planning to raise these issues right from the block level to the state capital and are working on it. The entire campaign is divided in to five phases. The Congress workers will also gherao the BJP leaders.

Sources said that the Congress party is getting a demand note printed in large number. At least 50 Congress workers will reach farmers in each block with these demand note and also conducted meeting at village level. In all 15000 small meetings have been planned of which two each will be held in each block.
