Welcomed with chants of “Yogi-Yogi” from an enthusiastic crowd, the Chief Minister met both teams’ captains and players, posed with the trophy, and encouraged stadium staff for their efforts. He also received a warm welcome from BCCI Vice President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajiv Shukla.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Yogi said the UP T20 League is providing a strong platform for youth and budding cricketers. He urged the BCCI to allot two IPL teams to Uttar Pradesh, given its 25 crore population, to ensure more opportunities for local talent.
Highlighting the government’s efforts to promote sports, the Chief Minister announced that the Varanasi International Cricket Stadium, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be completed by year-end, with 70% of work already done. He further said that stadiums are also under construction in Ayodhya, Gorakhpur and Meerut, where an international-standard stadium and Sports University are coming up.

Grounds are being developed in every village, mini stadiums in every block, and full-fledged stadiums in every district. Former players are also being engaged as coaches to guide emerging talent.”
The Chief Minister praised the energy of the players and spectators, saying that such events will inspire youth to excel in sports. Concluding his address, he affirmed his resolve to make Uttar Pradesh a leading state in the field of sports.
On this occasion, senior officials of BCCI, senior officials of UPCA, BCCI Vice President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajiv Shukla, UP T20 League Chairman Dr. DM Chauhan, Cabinet Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and many other dignitaries were present.
