Congress secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has raised question over the methods adopted in Uttar Pradesh to contain COVID-19 cases.
In a tweet on Saturday morning Priyanka wrote, “Lagbhag teen mahino ke lockdown, UP sarkaar ke tamaam dawon ke bawajood UP ke 25 jilon mein July mahine mein carona mamlon mein teji se vriddhi huee hai.” (Approximately 3 months of lockdown and tall claims by the state government COVID-19 cases have gone up fast in 25 districts of the state.)
She further wrote 3 UP districts have reported a rise of 200%, 3 districts have reported 400% rise and one district has reported 1000% rise in cases. According to the news about 70% infected cases in the Prayagraj districts died within 48-hours.
“We were afraid of such a situation hence had written to the UP chief minister and had suggested for maximum testing. The situation today is due to ignoring testing, delay in reporting, playing with statistics and ignoring contact tracing. UP government has no answer on this,” Priyanka wrote in her three part tweet.
Uttar Pradesh has reported 45163 cases till now and 1084 deaths. India has reported 1038716 cases and 26273 deaths, according to the data from the arogya setu app. IN Uttar Pradesh all 75 districts have reported cases the maximum 3940 Gautam Buddha Nagar, 3902 from Gaziabad, and 3386 in Lucknow.

Till now 27634 patients have recovered. IN all 16445 patients are undergoing treatment. A major spur of cases was noticed after June 30, and also the number of testing increased in the past 15 days in state.
