BJP’s defeat in Jharkhand is a mark of miscalculation for Rajya Sabha elections

The result for Jharkhands Rajya Sabha election are out and it seems that the BJP is now out of the frame in that region. The BJP had been stumbling, where in one place BJP have lost its political grip in Jharkhand on the other hand it is said that may be loosing its pace in Rajya Sabha due to this loss.

Surely this election have pushed the BJP work on their math again. The Jharkhand elections has proven that their math has failed when it came to bagging the medal to become  the single most biggest political party. It has been predicted that the BJP might not get even a single vote in the upcoming 2024 Rajya Sabha Elections.

According to an English newspaper If the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), somehow agrees to come together with BJP, then only the equation could be different and can improve its position in the Upper House. The JVM fought against the BJP in the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha.

Apparently, the BJP-led NDA coalition is not in the majority in the Rajya Sabha, but the party is capable of implementing the Citizenship Act, Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act. This is because apart from the main opposition party there are parties were  not in  any faction. Among these , the BJP was successful in getting the support of other parties.

There are six seats in the Rajya Sabha in which BJP has 3, Congress and RJD has one seat each. While, a sixth became an independent seat is bagged Industrilist Parimal Nathwanai. In 2020,2022 and 2024 two Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand  at a gap of two years each thus there will be a direct contest between the BJP and the ruling party alongside JMM-Congress-RJD. So the bottom line is that the Jharkhand election has made the number math seem complicated.
