The next three days that is January 31 to February 02 banking facilities will not be available as bank unions have given call for a nationwide strike. IN fact the strike has been called for two days while February 02 is Sunday.
People need to finish their banking related work by Thursday evening else they will have to wait for Monday to banks to open. Also as banks shall remain closed the ATMs will also get the extra load of giving more money to customers in need.
This is the second strike by bank unions this year. Earlier on January 8 banking was effected as six big unions had given strike call. Hence many banks were closed and those open could not function smoothly.
It is to be noted that the union leading these organisations, the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has given two day strike call. Under the UFBU organisations such as the All India Bank Employees Association, All India Bank Officers’ Confederation, National Federation of Bank Employees, All India Bank Officers’ Association, Bank Employees Federation of India come.
Bank employees will remain on three day strike from March 11-13 also. This strike has been called for various demands that are pending since long. Salary at par for same work, fixation of work hours, family pension and several other issues are the basis for the strike call.
