Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor can donate plasma, doctors of the King George’s Medical University concluded after conducting tests upon her blood samples.
The Baby Doll singer who tested positive and then recovered had expressed desire to donate plasma. Since KGMU has taken lead in conducting plasma therapy for coronavirus patients in the state the donation has been planned in the KGMU department of transfusion medicine.
But prior to donation KGMU doctors required to check if the antibodies are present in her body hence tests were conducted. Prof Tulika Chandra head of the KGMU blood bank said the test reports have come and she can donate plasma. At KGMU three other treated patients have already donated plasma and also one of the under treatment patient was administered plasma for treatment.
Kanika Kapoor had became the first Bollywood celebrity to test positive for Coronavirus after she returned from UK to Lucknow. Kanika had attended parties in Lucknow in the presence of top politicians and bureaucrats and all of them were later tested for Corona.
Kanika was admitted to PGI. Kanika in her social media post had said that all persons she came in contact with had been tested negative.
