Ayushman Bharat golden cards to be distributed along Ganga Yatra

LUCKNOW: Aiming to spread awareness and increase reach of the masses for Ayushman bharat scheme the health department has been given task to distribute Ayushman Bharat Golden cards to eligible beneficiaries who have not been able to get them till now.

Senior officials of the State Agency For Comprehensive Health Insurance and Integrated Services, that monitors distribution and usage of Ayushman Bharat golden cards, the flagship programme of the Indian government enabling people for cashless treatment at government and private empaneled hospitals, said about 26 districts have been listed for the endeavor. The chief medical officers of all these 26 districts have been asked to remain ready with the list of beneficiaries and the cards too.

In all villagers of over 900 villages are likely to benefit as the Ganga Yatra will move along the river Ganga in different districts including Bijnor, Ballia, Prayagraj, Amroha, Bagpat.

People who wish to get cards are required to bring with them documents to be checked and deposited by the health officials. Special camps will be set up for the purpose.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath flagged off the Ganga Yatra Rath, on January 23 in Lucknow. The Ganga yatra will commence on January 27 and will continue till January 31. The Ganga Yatra is also marking completion of three years of Yogi Adityanath as chief minister in Uttar Pradesh. Ganga Yatra will cover 1,025 kms via 26 districts through which the river flows.
