Another Indian-American has achieved key position. Donald Trump has nominated Saritha Komatireddy, a prosecutor and who teaches law at Columbia Law School, as the judge of the US district court for the Eastern District of New York.

US President Donald Trump had announced his intent to nominate Saritha Komatireddy to serve as a United States District Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York on February 12. Trump has sent her nomination.

A graduate of Harvard Law School, Komatireddy worked on the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. She is currently serving as the deputy chief of general crimes in the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

Earlier, she worked as the acting deputy chief, international narcotics and money laundering and computer hacking and intellectual property coordinator. She served as a counsel to the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling as well.

Many Indian origin people have achieved success in the US to get top positions US. Priti Patel, who is a person of Gujarati origin and became British Minister of State for Employment. She is the first female Indian cabinet minister and is thereby raised to the level of a highly desired role model for British-Indian girls.

As Narendra Modi arrived at the Heathrow International Airport on his visit, one of the persons in the delegation sent to welcome him was Priti.

President Trump in January 2019 had nominated three influential Indian-Americans including a woman nuclear expert to powerful administration positions.

Rita Baranwal was nominated for the post of Assistant Secretary of Energy (Nuclear Energy), Aditya Bamzai for member of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board and Bimal Patel as the assistant secretary of Treasury. Till now Trump has nominated or appointed more than three dozen Indian-Americans in key positions.

A few names could be Nimi McConigley the Republican member of the Wyoming House of Representatives was the first Indian born person and the first Indian American women to serve in any State legislature. Harvinder Anand mayor of Laurel Hollow, New York was the first Indian-American mayor in New York.

Niraj J. Antani was the first Indian American Republican elected to the Ohio House while Sam Arora former Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates.

Joy Cherian became first Asian and Indian American head of the EEOC while Upendra Chivukula Commissioner on the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities became first Indian-American elected to the NJ state legislature.

Reshma Saujani was the first Indian woman to run for Congress. Amish Shah was the member of the Arizona House of Representatives
