A nurse working at the King George’s Medical University tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday. She is the second such case in the medical university, the first being a resident doctor.
After the news came 25 other medical staff, with whom she worked in the team, were isolated on the campus and samples were sent to the KGMU lab for testing.
The nurse was screened as all other staff is done when they come for duty. She reportedly was not well and had applied for medical leave that was not sanctioned. When the team found symptoms her sample was sent and she tested positive.
“All her team members are in isolation facility and their test report is expected by morning,” said Dr Sudhir Singh, in charge media cell.
Getting the news the health teams visited the house of the nurse in Nakhas and screened those living at the same place.
Prior to the nurse a resident doctor had tested positive who had treated the first coronavirus case of Lucknow. He has recovered now. Apart from these two health workers 7 other health workers have tested positive in SNMC in Agra.
