Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and national president of the Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav has demanded a special session of the assembly keeping in view the prevailing conditions in the state.
Akhilesh said that the issues that have come up due to COVID-19 in the state need threadbare discussion in the state assembly. he said that issues such as economic crisis, and other issues need discussion.
He said that due to coronavirus no other patient is getting treatment in the hospitals and even lockdown is not enough to control coronavirus. People in their homes are afraid. The manner number of patients is increasing everyday it is clear that not enough testing is being done.
He alleged that there is poor administrative coordination and an example of this is the incident where patients from Agra were referred to Saifai hospital but the hospital was not informed and this caused problem. The patients had to wait for hours outside the hospital.
Akhilesh said that the fight is long and and can not be fought just with the officials hence support of the opposition should also be taken. The opposition can also give suggestions for the situation. These suggestions can improve the situation.
He said that people are troubled while being locked inside houses and due to rains and hailstorm the farmers are troubled too. Labours are migrating continuously. Unemployment is at a new high. Industries are closed now. He said the government should call for a special session so that a solution is found with the opposition.
