Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said the target for 2022 assembly polls begins with the by-polls.
Akhilesh Yadav was addressing a press conference after an event where senior politicians joined Samajwadi Party. Tribhuvan Dutta, the senior BSP leader and coordinator from Ambedkarnagar, former union health minister and 5-times MP from Badaun, Saleem Sherwani, former BSP MLA from Shahabad Ashif, wife of the present BSP MLA in Dhaulana seat in Hapur Aslam Chaudhary, Captain Indrapal Singh Pal, Prabhu Dayal Chauhan from Maharajganj, joined Samajwadi Party.

Akhilesh attacked the present BJP state government. He said that traditional houses of people are being bulldozed and even I had to submit an affidavit for my house. He was pointing towards the incidents where houses of former politicians were razed down.
Criticising the state government on the covid front Akhilesh said that the state government believes with less tests they will reduce number of cases. ‘The government has failed (on the covid front) and ministers and journalists died,’ said Akhilesh.
“The government is saying people have to live with the disease. Why haven’t the hospitals been upgraded. Farmers are being looted and now people are coming to us to remove this government,” he said.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the government should take steps to stop crime against women.
