Hats off to the last pair of Akashdeep and Jaspreet Bumrah for saving the follow on. The danger of follow on was very much there when Jadeja got out but the last Indian pair was having different ideas.
They batted with astute determination and full of confidence. They showed correct technique and temperament while facing the thunderbolts from Starc and Cummins .The top order batsmen should take a lesson from these two batsmen . We must give credit to K L Rahul and Jadeja also as they betted beautifully under the extreme pressure when top Indian batsmen failed miserably against the fiery Aussie bowling attack.
We don’t know what has happened to the famed Indian batsmen as so far they have failed miserably against the Aussie attack in 4 out of 5 innings. Kohli and Rohit poor batting form is a matter of great concern. We have never imagined the way they are batting these days. The other young Indian batsmen could not withstand the pressure and also surrendered meekly to the aggressive Aussie pacers.
Although we have saved the follow on but the danger of losing the test match is still hovering over the Indian team. The Australians will definitely give atleast 60 overs to bat on to Indians in the second innings . They will bat for another 75 minutes and thereafter will ask us to defend a total of 275 . Hopefully this time Indian batters will not let down our team. The plus point is that rain is expected during the day time and Hazlewood will be out of action because of the injury.
