The mela was organized to promote and create awareness about the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS). The scheme, launched in 2016 by the Government of India, has been created according to the Apprenticeship Act of 1961.The state government subsequently launched the Chief Minister’s Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (CMAPS) in 2020.
These apprentices are mainly candidates who have graduated from ITIs. The scheme offers enhanced reimbursement to establishments against stipend paid to apprentices and subsidizes the cost of Basic Training for youth.
The National Apprentice Promotion Scheme (NAPS) has made this entire process easier as one can now register on NAPS portal, create opportunities as per their requirements and even select candidates from those registered on the portal.
