An annual solar eclipse is happening and it can be seen in India and some other countries making the next day of your Christmas even better. Sri Lanka, Malasyis, the United Arab Emirates, Sudi Arabia, Qatar, Indonasia, Singapore, Oman and Guam will also be witnessing the same.
It is said it will be the last solar eclipse of the year 2019, and will be ‘Ring of Fire’ as it was seen in Chennai, Tamil Nadu where people saw the Moon covering the Sun’s center, leaving the other edges of the Sun, the Union Science and Technology Ministry explained.
“Obscuration of the Sun by the Moon at the time of greatest phrase of partial eclipse will be around 90 per cent in Banglore, 85 per cent in Chennai 79 per cent in Mumbai, 45 per cent in Mumbai, 45 per cent in Kolkata, 45 per cent in Delhi, 42 per cent in Patna, 33 per cent in Guwahati, 70 per cent in Port Blair, 35 per cent in Silchar etc,” a statement said.
The solar eclipse begin at 8 am today and was seen in several cities of the country at different time. People from Odisha, Kerala, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnatka, Maharashtra and Delhi are witnessing the solar eclipse this morning between 8:17 am to 10:57 am today.
