House gets to see the lighter side of Yogi Adityanath in Monsoon sessio*

In the first two days of the Monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly, the House got to see the lighter and funnier side of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for a change.

On Monday, the first day of the session, many MLAs were seen touching his feet. By the second day, the Chief Minister had used his sharp and sarcastic tone to undercut the opposition’s stance.

On Tuesday, in response to questions from opposition MLAs, Yogi Adityanath launched pointed criticisms at the SP, highlighting the inadequacies of their tenure.

While ostensibly congratulating the Leader of the Opposition, he also took a jibe at Shivpal Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav, with his remarks reverberating from Lucknow to Delhi.

Opposition MLAs who anticipated a softer stance from CM Yogi after the Lok Sabha election results were in for a surprise. Instead, CM Yogi’s approach was more assertive, though laced with sarcasm.

He swiped at senior SP leader Shivpal Yadav, using Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey as a pretext.

CM Yogi remarked, “Congratulations to you, but you also dumped your ‘Chacha’ in the end. Poor Chacha always ends up on the losing side.”

Shivpal Yadav had to clarify his position in the House following CM Yogi’s statement, while Akhilesh Yadav appeared speechless in response to the sarcasm outside the Lok Sabha in Delhi. CM Yogi effectively silenced both with a single comment.

Earlier, CM Yogi criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) in the House over women’s safety, claiming that the greatest threat to women comes from those associated with the SP itself.

He also targeted the SP regarding the honorarium for Anganwadi workers and cooks, accusing land mafias linked to the party of exploiting the poor.

CM Yogi alleged that the SP government had degraded the Gomti and Kukrail Rivers into drains.

In a pointed remark at Lucknow MLA Ravidas Mehrotra, he stated, “You are the MLA from Lucknow, but it is the government that is funding the rehabilitation efforts for the Kukrail River. You should be thanking us for our initiatives.”

On Monday, the first day of the session, the respect and reverence for CM Yogi were evident when he arrived at the Vidhan Sabha, where all the MLAs, including many from the opposition, would touch his feet.

Kunda MLA Raja Bhaiya was among them, who also sought CM Yogi’s blessings.

Additionally, CM Yogi was seen requesting Finance Minister Suresh Khanna to recite Shayari. When Khanna obliged and recited poetry, CM Yogi couldn’t help but laugh heartily. This display quickly became a topic of discussion on the very first day.
