JNU violence: AMU announces ‘Tiranga march’ today and FIR against miscreants

 

The Delhi police on Sunday have filed FIRs against the violence that took place in Jawahar Lal Nehru University on Sunday evening. The case registered by the Delhi police for beating students and vandalising college property have been reported however the no complaint has been filed by the College administration.

Police has been looking into the matter of weather the people who broke into the college were insiders or did they came from outside. Around 20 people including students and teachers were brutally beaten inside the hostel and campus with sticks and stones after a mob of goons stormed into the campus.

The politics going around the JNU episode was taken into hands by the Home Minister Amit Shah told the Leftinent Governor Anil Baijal to call the representatives of the JNU, meanwhile Secretary of the Ministry of Human Resource Development has called the Registrar, Proctor and Rector of Jawaharlal Nehru University in his office today. Apart from this Union minister Smriti Irani said that educational institutions like JNU should not be politicised. The investigation has started, so it would not be right to say anything at this time. But universities should not be allowed t become the hub of politics, nor should be used as a pawn of politics.

 

On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh Police have been alerted after the JNU ruckus and has issued an aleart against the Aligarh Muslim University, Kashi Hindu University and Allahabad Central University amid high tensions. Police in Aligarh, Prayagraj and Varanasi have also been instructed to keep in touch with the administration.

Aligarh Muslim University students have made an announcement to take out a flag march at the campus. The flag march will be carried out today at 3 pm from the Mass Com department to Baby Sayyed Gate. Poilice force has been deployed along with the Rapid Action Force (RAF) and PAC units. The police have also called for water cannon and fire brigade for security of the students.

Politicins have also been active in the Jawahar Lal Nehru University campus violence. BSP supremo Mayawati has demanded a judicial inquiry in a Tweet saying, “Violence with students in JNU is highly condenable and shameful. The central government should take this incident very seriously. Also, it would be better if there is a judicial inquiry into this incident. ‘

Let us tell you that the Jawaharlal Nehru University administration on Sunday said that some masked miscreants armed with sticks were roaming inside the campus and attacking people with property damage there, after which call the police to maintain law and order Was lying. Delhi Police said that it carried out a flag march and the situation was controlled after receiving a written request from the JNU administration. The Left-controlled JNUSU and ABVP blamed each other for the violence. The students’ union alleged that stone pelting by members of ABVP injured many of its members, including Ghosh.
