India’s covid-19 tally is inching towards 40 lakh mark with the current cases standing at 3,936,747 cases on Friday morning. However 3,037,151 of them have recovered and the fatalities stand at 68,569. The daily confirmed cases count comes to 2848 Per Million Population in India.
Continuing the spree of conducting more than 10 lakh tests per day from the last two days, India has witnessed an unprecedented surge in daily testing also. Over 11.7 lakh (11,72,179) tests were done in the last 24 hours. With this achievement, the cumulative tests are more than 4.5 crore (45509380), according to the union health ministry.
This demonstrates an exponential increase in the daily COVID-19 testing in the country. From conducting merely 10 tests per day on January 30, the daily average has crossed more than 11 lakhs now.

In a significant development union health ministry has stated that if a single person is driving their car or riding bicycle alone they do not require a face mask. But if the number is more than one in the car or it is a group bicycle ride or doing exercise then wearing a mask is a must to avoid the spread of COVID-19, the Union Health Ministry has said.
The country has also announced unlock-4 under which several activities including running of metro train in phased manner will be allowed. Metro will start operations from Monday onwards. Also eating joints and other activities have been allowed with certain restrictions to continue.
