India COVID-19 count cross 32-lakh

With 67,151 new cases, 1,059 deaths take India’s COVID-19 caseload has reached 3234475 and death toll to 59449, according to the health ministry on Wednesday morning.

The country also recorded highest in single day recovery of 66550 patients. And the government also said that with positivity rate progressively falling, testing has worked as an effective tool to limit the spread of Covid-19 infection. There are 707267 active cases now and 2467759 cured patients according to the union health ministry.

Uttar Pradesh on the other hand is inching towards 2 lakh mark. The number of confirmed cases till now is 197388 and with an average over 4000 cases being reported every day it is expected the state will cross 2-lakh mark during the day. UP at present has 49575 active cases and 144754 patients have recovered.

The state had reported its first case on March 2 in Agra and during the next two months the number of fresh cases kept rising but were in two digits. However in the month of June, July and August the rise became manifolds and now over 4000 fresh cases are being reported in the state everyday.

The maximum load is from Lucknow that has reported over 23000 cases till now. Though positivity rate in the country has gone down as per the reports from the health ministry UP is yet to see a considerable fall. Though experts say the positivity rate is not alarming against the number of tests the state is conducting, maximum among all districts.
