Gmail stopped working for a while and the problem troubled users across the globe on Thursday morning. Services returned normal at around 12.45 IST.
Can’t send something on Gmail? The Google apps status page just updated to confirm they’ve received reports of an issue with Gmail and Google Drive, while a quick look at Twitter or on DownDetector shows thousands of reports over the last hour or so.
“We’re investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly. We are continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 8/20/20, 4:00 AM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem,” the messages came to the users.

Widespread issues with Gmail are being reported by users for the past couple of hours. Issues have been noticed in many of the G Suite services, most particularly Gmail.
The issues, also being seen in the case of Google Drive, are of an intermittent nature. Users are generally able to access Google Drive, Gmail and hangout, but are encountering what IT support staff calls “high latency, and/or other unexpected behaviours”.
Users faced problem in Attaching or accessing attachments, as well as accessing and saving draft emails and sending emails. Unable to share files, Upload and download of files.
