Lucknow: Buses will once again run on Uttar Pradesh roads from Monday. The decision has been taken to run intra-district buses. The managing director of the Uttar Pradesh Road Transport Corporation Raj Shekher told media, “buses will start from 8 am.”
The service will have a changed manner in which passengers travel and this time additional precaution towards infection spread will be there. Hence all passengers will first be screened for fever or any other symptom and then allowed to board the bus. None with symptoms will be allowed to board a bus.
Sanitizers will be available for passengers and number of passengers will be limited only to the capacity of the buses to ensure passengers sit at a distance.
Thousands of people who are awaiting to go to other district will have a sigh of relief. The UPSRTC has been transporting thousands of migrant workers to their home town every day since past several weeks but there are many who need to visit to other places but could not as movement of buses was stopped for normal passengers.
The running of buses will be strictly monitored by the authorities and any one with symptoms will be transported to hospital via ambulance. The driver, conductor and other staff will put up masks, gloves and also monitor the condition of passengers.
The three-wheeler service and city bus service shall also start in the phased manner.
