Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has been slapped with an FIR under epidemic act while over 100 of her contacts in the state have been put under home quarantine. Reason. The singer behaved irresponsibly and met over a 1oo people in three parties/get together since she arrived in India on March 9 from UK.
She went to meet her children in UK and soon after her arrival she participated in a high profile Holi party. 23 people in her contact have given samples for lab test while politicians and leaders including former chief minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje, and her son Dushyant, UP’s health minister and his family, Congress leader Jitin Prasad have voluntarily put themselves under home quarantine.
Health officials visited Mahanagar, Khurramnagar, Mall, Hazratganj and other areas where she had gone and took samples of people she was in contact. After reports of Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor came positive district administration ordered closure of all offices in city’s several areas including parts of Mahanagar, Indira Nagar, Khurram Nagar, Aliganj, Gudamba till March 23.
On Saturday chief minister Yogi Adityanath in an address said that people should adhere to Janata Curfew. He said that there is adequate stock of food and there is no reason to panic but we should prepared to fight against it.
He announced Rs 1000 each to about 20,37,000 construction labours. This will be done via DBT. All street vendors who are in Uttar Pradesh about 15 lakh will also get same amount. All labours will be given food grains via ration stores.
