Kamalnath in number game, will expand cabinet

News Desk

The Madhya Pradesh’s Kamalnath government is stuck in number game and to resolve the entire crisis the CM Kamalnath has himself come in front and has decided to expand his cabinet.

If sources are to be believed then Kamalnath wants to pacify the disgruntled MLAs and in the process a few ministers may be removed from cabinet. Congress leaders Gulam Nabi Azad and Kapil Sibal are working to disturb the game plan. Congress wants to break the BJP MLAs and keep their trust better with the others. Congress is targeting at least 8 BJP MLAs.

The independent MLAs are being told by the Congress that all their demands will be met. Also the independent MLAs are being lured with cabinet rank in future. A new face as state Congress chief is possible soon and for this name of Jyotiraditya Sindhya is doing rounds.

It may be mentioned that the horse trading of MLAs between Congress and BJP turned in to political battle on Thursday night. One of the ‘missing’ Congress MLA gave resignation and soon after two BJP MLAs reached Cm’s official residence.

This incident has brought worries in both the parties. It is said that few more MLAs might give resignation. Hardeep Singh ‘Dang’ who was missing gave his resignation and this resulted in to a reply from the Congress.

BJPs disgruntled MLAs Narayan Tripathi reached CM residence. He also met the speaker. it was earlier said he was angry but later he said he went to meet for discussing development issues in his constituency. It is said that two or three more MLAs are seen in the CM residence.

BJP MLA Sanjay Pathak was seen at CM resident at 1 in the night. Before Tripathi reached the Cm residence a state minister Govind Singh rana had announced that two BJP MLAs will join Congress in the night. It was then said that BJP MLAs Sharad Kol would be the second MLA but he was not seen at CM residence.

Sources said BJP leaders Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Narendra Singh Tomar met JP Nadda in New Delhi but there was silence from the side of two Congress ‘missing’ MLAs. It is believed these two are with Dung in Bengaluru. Dang, a Congress MLAs from Suvsara seat in Mandsaur has resigned from the assembly membership. This has brought upheaval in Congress camp.

In his resignation Hardeep Singh dang has written that he does not belong to any of the camps such as Kamalnath, Jyotiraditya or Digvijay hence he remain troubled. He also pointed out that he was no given a ministry in the government. he wrote, ‘With a lot of hope people elected me but I was ignored at every step.

None of the ministers is ready to do any work. People are not getting the benefit of the government schemes and excuse of budget is put up. Whereas in other areas work is done.’ The CM on the other hand said Dang is an MLA in his party and has not given him resignation till now. Cm said he will speak to Dang.

BJP on the other hand is working with Karnataka formula and is trying to reduce number of Congress MLAs. It is said that JP Nadda is heading this campaign. It is named ‘operation Lotus’ and has Shivraj Singh, Narendra Singh Tomar, Dharmendra Pradhan, VD Sharma, Narottam Arvind Mennon. The MLAs putting up in Bengaluru, Karnataka are being looked after by son of Yaddurappa.

It may be mentioned that Madhya Pradesh, which is said to be the heart of India has 230 MLAs and two seats are vacant. The majority figure is 115 and Congress at present has 114. There are four independent MLAs, two BSP MLAs, and one SP MLA. So Congress has 121 MLAs with it.

If 8 of the Congress MLAs resign then its figure will be 108 and BJP has 107 MLAs. If two MLAs Sharad Kol and Narayan Tripathi join Congress then BJP will be left with 105. So Congress will have 106 and BJP 105 MLAs.
