Fourty out of 75 districts has performed poorly/dis satisfactory on controlling corona virus and handling situation arising out of the pandemic, says report from the home department. The districts include state capital Lucknow where the number of corona virus patients including Tablighi Jamat members is stated to be high.
There is lack of coordination between the police and administration in Lucknow the report stated. The report from the office of additional chief secretary, home, that has released status of all the 75 districts. The districts where the performance is poor / dissatisfactory include Meerut, Bagpat, Hapur, Gaziabad, Noida, Saharanpur, Mujaffarnagar, Shamli, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Badaun and Bareilly. In Bareilly the police and medical teams had to face violence while performing duty and this has been pointed out in the home department report.
Districts that has given satisfactory results according to the home department are Etah, Hathras, Shrawasti, Aligarh, Kasganj, Pilibhit, Shajahanpur, Unnao, Ayodhya, Oraiyya, Jhansi, Lalitput, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Mau, Balia, Gorakpur, Deoria.
In the letter to the district police chiefs and administrative heads the home department has pointed out that the poor performing places have not implemented lockdown adequately hence the implementation be followed strictly to control COVID-19 pandemic.
The officials in the districts with poor performance have been asked to improve coordination between departments. Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Meerut, Agra, and Saharanpur have reported maximum cases.
