South Africa turned the table what Indian think tank conspired to win the match against the World champions. It was a total mistake by preparing a turner which ultimately help the visiters than the host.
It was not to blame the bowlers to some extant as they did the job fairly good. Hats off to Bumrah & Siraj for capturing 10 wickets on a turner.
The remaining wickets were shared by Jadeja, Kuldeep and Axar Patel whereas Washington was allowed to bowl only one over in the entire match. Washington proved his batting talent while contributing more in comparison to regular batsmen.
India batters should have taken a big lead in the first innings itself when Bumrah captured 5 wickets unexpectedly on a slow turner which wss specially prepared for the spinners. The Indian batters did not apply themselves for Test cricket and played as if they were playing one dayers. They should have applied themselves to the real cricket and batted with determination to achieve a sizeable lead. A hundred run lead in the first innings should have been enough to achieve the ultimate goal.
Moreover the roll of skipper was not at all expected. Okay he was injured while having a sprain in the neck but he should have batted while taken a pain killer and given some support to Axar Patel, the last recognise batsman. He did not set the example being leader of the team and rather he should be criticized for his cowardice act. Perhaps he was more concerned about his career in IPL rather than in test cricket.
The Indian think tank should learn a lesson from this defeat and they must not prepare such type of wicket in future. Since we are well equipped in pace department and therefore we should prepare a standard pitch which help the spinners on 4th and 5th day and let the batsmen also to enjoy some batting.It was unfair to the spectators also as they bought the ticket for a five day test match which was over in two and a half days.
