On her last day of the show ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’ Saumya Tandon aka Anita Bhabhi the entire cast and crew was emotional.
Saumya did not clearly stated the reason why she left the show which had given her an identity of ‘Gori Mem’ as referred by the Daroga Happu Singh in the show but just that it was a personal decision by an artist.
She captioned her social media post, “End of a beautiful journey. The way we part shows how strong our relationship was. These are some moments to cherish all my life, my small note for every single person on the unit. My dearest @iaasifsheikhofficial . The show came in air in 2015 and has been on top of the &TV list. There were rumours that Saumya has decided to quit the show due to pay cuts or COVID-scare, however, she cleared that as well in an interview and said that it is a decision taken by an artist.
Saumya Tandon also shared that she worked till the last stage of her pregnancy and was back in just 4 months after her delivery. Will she be seen in a movie now is not yet clear.
Saumya has been the part of the show since its inception. She played the character of Anita Bhabhi, who runs grooming classes and supports her family since her husband Aasif Shaikh is jobless. While Aasif’s character, Vibhuti Narayan Mishra, has a crush on Angoori Bhabhi, the latter’s husband Rohitashv Gour aka Manmohan Tiwari is smitten by Anita Bhabhi’s beauty and her upmarket mannerism.
Last year, Saumya had earned plaudits for not accepting money from the Cobrapost’s investigative journalists.
